BSB Nanotech is proud to announce the success of the sustainable rice cultivation program in Đắk Lắk province, under the framework of the Net Zero Carbon Program, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving rice yields.
By using BSB Nanotech's Biosilico ECO OK product, combined with the EcoCycle farming method and Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), farmers reduced water consumption by up to 50%, cut costs by nearly 10%, and increased productivity by more than 19%. Additionally, the model helps reduce nearly 4 tons/ha of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2), contributing to environmental protection, cleaner rice, and safer production.
Notably, Net Zero Carbon Joint Stock Company purchased nearly 17 tons of CO2 emission reductions from the model, at $20 per ton. The company also awarded the CO2 emission reduction report certificate to Đắk Lắk’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sở NN-PTNT).
This marks the first CO2 emission reduction on rice in Vietnam, implemented in Đắk Lắk.
A remarkable achievement is the sale of nearly 17 tons of CO2e emission reductions from the model, enabling farmers to earn an additional 8.3 million VND. This success was achieved through the alternating wet and dry farming techniques and the use of Biosilico ECO OK, reducing around 4 tons of emissions per hectare, demonstrating the environmental and economic benefits of the project.
This program not only supports Vietnam’s climate goals but has also garnered extensive media coverage, including from Tuổi Trẻ Online and VnExpress, highlighting BSB Nanotech’s role in promoting sustainable agriculture.
